Meter Star to Race in Falmouth FALMOUTH, Mass. The 35th CIGNA Falmouth Road Race, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 12, has added several star athletes to its already stellar field. Micah Kogo, a gifted 20-year-old from Kenya, has agreed to run. Kogo was the top-ranked 10,000 meter runner in the world in 2006 with a best of 26:35.63. This year he ranks first on the 10k road list. CIGNA Falmouth has also added two Pan Am Games gold medalists. Just back from Rio de Janeiro will be Ed Moran, an assistant coach at the College of William and Mary, who won the gold medal at 5,000 meters in a games record of 13:25.60. This will be his first Falmouth. On the women's side Boulder, Colo., native Sara Slattery has agreed to run. Slattery won the 2006 Celestial Seasoning's Bolder Boulder 10k, and finished second in the U.S.A. outdoor 5,000 championships. Last week, in Rio, Slattery won the gold medal in the Pan Am 10,000 meters in a games record 32:54.41. The CIGNA Falmouth Road Race will begin at 10 a.m. on the 12th.
