Last weekend's conference action showed us what we already know: John McDonnell is a true legend, Mark Wetmore is becoming one and so is Wisconsin's Jerry Schumacher. McDonnell's Razorbacks won their 34th straight conference crown, Wetmore's men and women swept their 9th straight titles (12 straight for the men) and Jerry Schumacher's Wisconsin Badger's got their 9th straight.
Last week's conference action also showed us what we know about this year's NCAA meet, the Stanford women and Oregon men are heavy favorites for the titles. Both Stanford and Oregon still sit comfortably atop the 2007 LetsRun.com NCAA XC Polls heading into this weekend's crucial regional (NCAA qualifying) action.
Not much changed in the LetsRun.com NCAA polls but we feel we need to point out a couple of things. First, a thumbs up to former Olympian Mark Conover's Cal Poly team who scored a perfect score of 15 at the Big West meet. Impressive. And boy are things tough in the Women's Pac 10 Conference. They conference has 4 teams in the top 10 in the country. Washington and Arizona State only scored 68 points at the Pac 10s and that was only good enough for a tie for 3rd.
The LetsRun.com national and conference polls for November 8th, 2007 appear below.
