Vin Lananna goes to Oregon and just 2 years later (after both Footlocker champs went to Oregon) Oregon goes to the top of the NCAA XC rankings. Phil Knight is happy, Nike is happy, and the rest of you had better get used to it.
The Oregon Ducks, who the letsrun.com viewers gave more love than the coaches in the preseason poll (#3 in our poll, #4 in their poll) defeated Wisconsin at their home meet and are making everyone in Niketown happy, as they are #1 heading into the big pre nationals weekend.
Colorado is the new #1 on the women's side despite getting half as many first place votes as the Stanford Cardinal. We'll chalk that up to some of the letsrun.com guys who don't know a lot about women (hold the jokes) trying to be supportive of Title IX and voting and leaving off Stanford in their top 10.
