Boathouse Sports to Sponsor BorderChallenge XC National Championships Philadelphia, PA, April 30, 2007 — Boathouse Sports, the world’s leading direct manufacturer of custom team athletic apparel, has been named title sponsor of the BorderChallenge Championships, a new high school cross country team championship. Boathouse will supply uniforms and warm-ups for all participants in the new national championship, which will be held in Florida in December. “We’re excited to support the BorderChallenge
Championships,” said Bill Reifsnyder, director of marketing for Boathouse.
“Our job at Boathouse is to give teams the athletic gear they need
to perform their best. So it’s only natural that we work closely a
national team championship in high school cross country, the largest
scholastic sport in the country.” The BorderChallenge Championships divides
the country into 11 regions. A championship will be held in each region
after the final state championship in that region has occurred. Any
public, private or prep high school within the region may field a team,
and regional championships will be offered for middle school, junior
varsity and varsity teams. To account for differences in school size,
the regional championships will hold separate races for large schools
(more than 1,200 students enrolled) and small schools (less than 1,200
students enrolled). From each region, the top three large-school teams
and the top small-school team will be offered an all-expenses-paid trip
to the BorderChallenge National Championship. The first national meet
will be held on December 1 at the National Training Center in Orlando,
Florida. “After years of inaccurate polls and
meaningless state-to-state, team-to-team comparisons, the BorderChallenge
Championships give athletes, coaches and fans a real way to find out
who the best team in the country is,” said Aron Taylor, president
of BorderChallenge. To learn more about the BorderChallenge Championships, visit the event’s Web site, www.xcnation.com.
