Alan Webb Fifth In Spanish XC Race in Valladolid, Spain

American miler Alan Webb finished fifth in his first international cross country race today in Valladolid, Spain.  He covered the 10.75 km course in 33:19.

The winner was Kenyan Mike Kigen in 31:43, followed by Spaniard Jose Rios (32:07), Rwandan Dieudonne Disi (32:47), and Ukranian Sergey Lebid (32:59).  Disi was the defending champion.

Webb is expected to race a second cross country in the Spanish city of Haro next Sunday before returning home to Reston, Va.
