Asafa Powell won the 100 in 9.86, Meseret Defar ran 8:24 for 3k, Kenenisa Bekele won the 1500 and Kajsa Bergqvist had world record attempts in the high jump. All in all 7 stadium records were set earning the record breakers the diamond prizes. But Tegenkamp, the most overlooked man in American distance running, continues to impress (although he only finished 8th in the race) as he has lowered his pr 21 seconds this year.

Jeremy Wariner trounced the Xman and lowered his pb in the 400 in the anticipated matchup. And it took over 20 years but Dan Lincoln eclipsed Henry Marsh's American record in the steeple. Asafa Powell ran 9.85 for the win, Khadevis Robinson went sub 1:44 in the 800, Marion Jones ran her fastest 100 time in 4 years but lost, and Jen Rhines ran a 15:05 5k, and Hazel Clark went sub 2:00.

It was a world record for Xiang in the hurdles as Dominique Arnold also broke the old world record, the #2 time ever by NCAA star Xavier Carter at 200, while Tyson Gay ran a scorching fast 19.70 as the sprinters took advantage of the wide turns in lanes 7 and 8.

Khadevis Robinson continued his fine form as he followed up with his sub 1:44 clocking on Friday in Rome with the convincing win here (1:44.25). Christian Smith decided to skip the 1:45s all together as he lowered his pr from 1:46.49 to 1:44.86. And Alice Schmidt got the 800m win over Jolanda Ceplak in 1:59.35 nearly equalling her pb she set last year at this track. Adam Goucher ran 7:45 in the 3k and Galen Rupp ran 7:56.

One we missed from Nationals: Marion Jones Loses Arbitration Case And Sues Her Ex-Coach Dan Pfaff Her lawyers don't seem too good. She refused to pay Pfaff the second year of his $100,000 contract, then took him to arbitration over the matter, lost, and now has to pay his legal fees of $238,000. So now she's suing him. If she had just paid him the $100,000 in the first place it would have been a lot cheaper. An interesting tidbit in the case is she refused to submit to blood work that her coach wanted.
