Justin Gatlin Loses His World Record Well technically he now just has to share it with Asafa Powell but this shows the boys in Qatar were a little eager for a world record. Also, at first the meet announced the wind was 2.0 mps, the maximum wind allowable for world record purposes, and then it was later changed to 1.7mps. Gatlin and Fasuba did blow away Shawn Crawford who finished 3rd. The question is whether it was wind aided or not.

Alan Webb surprised many people by taking down Dathan Ritzenhein in the 10k at Stanford by outkicking him over the final 100m to win in 27:34. Steeplechaser Anthony Famiglietti closed on the leaders the final 5k and finished only 3 seconds back in the exciting Kim McDonald 10k.
Ritzenhein was running in the memory of his close friend Matthew Weber who died this week from injuries suffered from a roadside bomb attack in Iraq. Isabella Ochichi ran a 14:59 5k
