BOSTON MARATHON
NOTES The total prize money for the 110th Boston Marathon equals
$575,000 with $100,000 to the male and female champions.
This year, the top men in the field will wear assigned
uniforms to help the media and spectators readily identify the leaders
during the race. The professional women will again start ahead of the
professional men and the rest of the 20,000 field including two waves.

The 2006 Boston Marathon also kicks-off the World
Marathon Majors, an innovative grand prix series with a $1,000,000
prize purse. The two-year, five-marathon (Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago
and New York City) series will award $500,000 each to the overall male and
female point scorers. After Boston, the next WMM race is the Flora London
Marathon on Sunday, April 23.
In addition, on race day, the 110th Boston Marathon
will be aired twice on OLN, Monday, April 17. The first showing is live at
11:30am-2:30pm EST, followed by a re-air at 5:00-7:00pm. Check your local

EST on April 17.
