Meb Keflezighi Gets Married Olympic silver medalist Meb Keflezighi of Mammoth Lakes and San Diego, Calif., wed his fiancée Yordanos Asgedom, last Saturday in Tampa, Fla., at Christ the King Catholic Church. The ceremony, which took only slightly longer than Keflezighi's 2:09:56 marathon clocking at the ING New York City Marathon earlier this month, was conducted entirely in Tigrinia, the official language of his native Eritrea. Keflezighi became a U.S. citizen in 1998. Asgedom, a Client Manager and Asst. Vice-President at Bank of America, plans to relocate from Tampa to San Diego where the couple will live in Keflezighi's primary residence there. He also owns a home in Mammoth Lakes where he does his heavy training at high altitude. Keflezighi, 30, is the U.S. record holder for 10,000m (27:13.98, 2001) and the former U.S. 20-K record holder (58:57). Mary Wittenberg, CEO and President of the New York Road Runners; Mike Long, Elite Athlete Coordinator for Elite Racing; Bob Larsen, Keflezighi's personal coach; and Matt Downin, an elite marathoner were amongst the attendees at the wedding ceremony. Later that evening, over 350 people attended a lively reception held for the couple at the Hyatt hotel in downtown Tampa which featured traditional Eritrean music and dance.
