*2005 Reebok Boston Results
The Reebok Boston Indoor Games had it all Friday night with the Ethiopian distance runners creating most of the drama. Tirunesh Dibaba started things off with a stellar world record 14:32 5k, and Kenenisa Bekele, the world's greatest distance runner, in his first race since the sudden death of his fiancee, finished things with a bizarre stunning loss in a thrilling men's 3k to Alistair Cragg, formerly of Arkansas, as Bekele stopped a lap short having miscounted the laps, perhaps due to the fact that Cragg launched his kick with 500m to go.
In between, Olympic 5k champ Meseret Defar just missed a 3k world record as lapped runners got in her way, Laban Rotich had a stellar kick to win the men's mile over Olympic silver medallist Bernard Lagat (Michigan's Nate Brannen just missed by a tenth of a second (in his opinion and that of the meet announcers) or just broke the 30 year old NCAA record in the mile (stat geeks), and Adam Nelson threw the shot far. Splits and photos to come later. Stories from other sources below.

Gets Silver in Marathon, Leader Attacked by Deranged Spectator
Keflezighi's silver medal was a
surprise in the marathon (first American medal in this event since
1976), but not the biggest surprise in the race, as the leader of the
race, Brazilian Vanderlei de

medal despite losing valuable time, not to mention his rhythm. Italian Stefano
Baldini got the gold. America
was the only country to leave with more than one medal in the Olympic
