Reebok Signs Top Ethiopians: Kidane, Gebremariam, Dinkessa, and Ayunu

Canton, MA. (March 21, 2005) – Adding to its roster of top global athletes,
Reebok announces today that it has signed multi-year running sponsorship
agreements with 2005 IAAF World Cross-Country medallist and top contenders,
Weknesh Kidane, Egziabher Gebremariam, Abebe Dinkessa and Workitu Ayanu.
Kidane received a silver medal in the 4k and a bronze medal in the 8k at
the 2005 IAAF World Cross-Country Championships in Lyon, France this past
weekend.

“We are thrilled to welcome Weknesh, Egziabher, Abebe and Workitu into the
Reebok family,” said Todd Klein, senior director of running marketing.
“These new endorsements mark the first time Reebok has had top Ethiopian
distance runners as part of our stable of athletes.  Partnering with such
high caliber runners is the important next step Reebok is making to further
build our running roster and deepen our commitment to the sport of
running.”

Winding up last weekend with both silver and bronze medals, 24 year old
Kidane placed first at the IAAF World Athletics Final in the 5,000m in 2003
and 2nd at the IAAF World Athletics Final in the 5,000m in 2004.  Kidane
has a personal best in the 1500m with a time of 4:15.51, a 3000m best of
8:39.51, a 5,000m time of 14:33.04 and a 10,000m best of 30:07.15.

At a mere 21 years old, Gebremariam has a personal best in the 3,000m at an
impressive 7:55.40, a 5,000m time of 12:55.59 and a 10,000m best of
26.53.73.  The first-place finisher at the IAAF World Athletics Finals in
the 5000m in 2003, Gebremariam was also the silver medallist at IAAF World
Cross-Country Championships in 2004.

Placing 4th at in the men’s 12K at the 2005 IAAF World Cross-Country
Championships, Dinkessa has a personal best in the 3,000m with an
impressive time of 7:53.7, a 5,000m time of 13:23.85 a 10,000m best of
27:23.60 and a half marathon personal best time of 1:04.06.

At the young age of 18, Ayanu has a personal best in the 1,500m of 4:21.31,
a 3,000m time of 9:03.15 and a best in the 5,000m of 15:29.21.
